Study Room Policy
-
General Use
The library offers 11 group study rooms and the student organizations’ conference table to support law students’ collaborative work and individual spirit of inquiry.
Room reservation privileges are granted to current law students, faculty, and staff. Exceptions may be made for educational purposes on a case-by-case basis. To request an exception, please email lawlibrary@uconn.edu.
All reservations are placed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Users are responsible for keeping the space neat, and returning all rearranged furniture to its proper place.
Personally identifiable information collected during room reservation transactions is kept confidential.
Individuals or groups that are more than 15 minutes late forfeit their reservation.
Questions and concerns about study room use should be directed in person to the circulation desk, by email at lawlibrary@uconn.edu, or by phone at (860) 570-5012. -
Individual and Group Student Use
Individual students, or those making a request on behalf of a study group, can reserve rooms online.
Each student may reserve a group study room for a maximum of two hours per day, up to two weeks in advance.
Students who cancel reservations prior to the start time will recoup the amount of time they canceled.
Unauthorized reservations or misuse of study rooms may be reported to the Assistant Dean of Students.
Teaching Assistants can request recurring reservations for the purpose of meeting with students by filling out this web form, or by emailing lawlibrary@uconn.edu. -
Student Organizations
Student organizations may reserve the conference table in the Student Lounge. The lounge space is non-reservable and remains accessible to current law students whenever the library is open.
Competition organizers reserving group study rooms must complete this web form at least two weeks in advance to ensure room availability. The library will temporarily reserve study rooms for the entire day until a detailed competition schedule is available.
A detailed competition schedule must include the specific times, rooms, and competitors in each individual round. The detailed schedule should be emailed to lawlibrary@uconn.edu as soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours before the first round of the day.
Noncompliance with the policy will result in the cancellation of all room reservations previously made on behalf of the student organization. -
